(September 12, 2018) - The New York Rescue Response Team (NYRRT) has been honored by the New York State Assembly for their dedication to serving the citizens of the State of New York. The recognition came in the form of a formal Citation issued by the Hon. Jaime Williams, Member of the New York State Assembly representing District 59 in Brooklyn.

New York Rescue Response Team provides New York City and surrounding communities with search and rescue services. NYRRT, a volunteer organization, has been providing quality emergency services to New York City and its residents for over 10 years.

“It is with great pride and esteem that I have the opportunity to recognize the New York Rescue Response Team who is dedicated to our State and Community for over a decade, and who has assisted in numerous search and rescues and the safety of countless lives” the Assemblymember declared.

“It is our profound appreciation to the New York State Assembly, and especially to Assemblymember Williams, for their official recognition of the important work the New York Rescue Response Team provides” said Shelomo Alfassa, NYRRT’s Public Information Officer upon accepting the Citation on behalf of the NYRRT Command Staff and the entire Team.

The issuing of the Citation coincides with September being the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Preparedness Month, an annual opportunity for emergency management agencies and public safety organizations to remind all citizens that we must prepare ourselves and our families, now and throughout the year, for all emergencies that may affect us. This includes ensuring we have smoke detectors and an emergency action plan for our homes and working with neighbors and our communities to prepare for disasters which can strike at anytime.

NYRRT is a State of New York non-profit organization and a recognized IRS 501c(3) non-profit agency. NYRRT generates financial support from the public to support day-to-day operations, fund equipment, provide fire prevention for the community, and provide additional training and equipment for its members. All of our funding comes from donations of caring civic-minded citizens of New York City.
